Then, you need to request and install a permanent license from SAP.
If you have installed SAP NetWeaver Application Server with ABAP and Java, you can follow the licensing procedure used in earlier releases of the SAP NetWeaver application servers. For more information, see the "SAP License Key" documentation.
There are two types of SAP licenses:
- Permanent license
- Temporary license
The temporary license generated during installation has a validity period of 90 days.
Note that you cannot install another temporary license, if the expired license is also a temporary one. If you again install a temporary license later on, it this has a validity period of 28 days.
Procedure
Installing a Temporary License
If your permanent license is expired, as a short term measure you can install a temporary one.
- Open SAP NetWeaver Administrator in a browser, entering http://<host>:<port>/nwa .
- Choose Configuration → Infrastructure → Licenses.
- In the Available License pane, choose the Extend with Temporary License button.
- By the time the temporary license expires, you should have installed again a permanent license.
